Patrick’s Special Wish

Patrick is an 11 year old boy with Cystic Fibrosis who lives in Columbia Heights with his Mom and 2 cats. Dealing with Cystic Fibrosis can be pretty tough on a young guy.  Patrick has to endure daily medications as well as a special machine that helps to clear his lungs.  He spends a lot of time watching TV and videos.  He also enjoys reading Harry Potter and watching Sponge Bob movies, and is a big fan of Jim Carrey. 

Our Wish Wizards, Karla Blomberg and Paul Morrissey, met with Patrick on May 14th.  His wish request was for a TV with a DVD player and cable service.  When Patrick is in the hospital he watches his favorite channels, Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel.  He wanted to be able to watch them at home too. 

Wishes & More purchased a TV with a DVD/VCR for Patrick.  We included a $250 gift card so he could rent all the DVD’s he wanted.  Wishes & More will also cable service for 3 years.

On May 24th Patrick was presented with his gifts.  He was so excited!  Patrick is a whiz at electronics and he had the new TV figured out in no time.  The cable service was installed the very next day.  Jenny, Patrick’s Mom, said that he is thrilled with his new TV and cable.
