First Annual Wishes & More Bowling Classic

The 1st Annual
Wishes & More Bowling Classic was held on Sunday, May 21st, at the Texa-Tonka Bowl in St. Louis Park.  72 men, women, boys, and girls plied their skills to help raise money for some very special kids.  Some of the highlights were a 276 bowled by Keith Page and a 246 turned in by Ally Herstein.  The group had the honor of hearing a special message from Bill, who is a wish recipient.  Bill spoke about his wish and his gratitude for what Wishes & More had provided.  Bill, his father, Mark, and his mother, Julie also enjoyed tossing around the round ball for Wishes & More

Bowlers raised money by getting pledges in flat amounts and on a per pin basis.  The outpouring of support was fantastic!  Complementing the goal of raising money was the goal of having a good time.  Both goals were met and exceeded!

Prizes were awarded for getting a strike when a colored pin was the head pin as well as for picking up tough spares, multiple strikes, great games, or in appreciation of a good try.  By all accounts, a good time was had by all, and everyone indicated they were looking forward to next year’s event.

Special thanks go to our sponsors, The Oakdale Outlaws, Curt Purington of Wells Fargo Client Services, and Cindy Sontag, LTD.  A special tip of the hat to Steve Trickey, Jeff Kristal, and the entire staff at the Texa-Tonka Bowl for being such good hosts.  Thanks, guys!

Keep an eye out for information about next year’s event targeted for May, 2007.  It looks to be bigger and better, and of course, more fun!
