After ten months of being a perfectly healthy baby, Abbi suddenly started enduring muscle weakness. This affected her entire body, including her breathing and ability to eat. After many doctor visits there was never an answer to the all consuming question: Why?
Abbi’s family was searching for an organization that would assist them at Abbi’s young age when they discovered Wishes & More. During the initial interview, the family wanted to take a memorable trip with their daughter while they still could. But after re-evaluating her condition, it was determined that a playset would be more fitting. Understanding the urgency of this wish change, Wishes & More rushed into action, providing the family with the perfect playset in only a matter of days. The day was June 9, 2009.
Abbi swung next to her medical equipment in her special swing, but more importantly, next to her sister, a sight her parents thought they would never see. The sisters got to enjoy this time together almost every day, even the day Abbi received her wings. The day was June 20, 2009. “Being able to have our girls swing together in our backyard will create memories that will last a lifetime,” said mom.
