Wish
For Nathan, turning 11 years old turned out to be more than just another birthday, thanks to Wishes & More®.
Diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in July of 2009, this adventurous young man’s first wish was for a camper. He wished for a camper large enough to house his family and friends. This way he could share his love of camping, fishing and biking trips with those he holds closest to his heart.
Nathan’s mom decided the perfect way to present Nathan his camper would be as a surprise on his birthday. So we did just that! On April 12th at 11:45 a.m., the camper was delivered to the middle school in Kasson, MN. Classmates and family of Nathan were there to see the smile on his face and tears in his eyes when he realized his dream had become a reality.
Not only were family, classmates and community friends there to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime presentation, but Nathan’s inspiring experience was also featured in the local television news and newspaper. Nathan’s mom said "He was just so overwhelmed by the whole thing."
With Nathan’s Leukemia in remission, the family took their first trip in the new camper over Memorial Day weekend. When the camper is parked in the driveway, he hosts the best sleepover in town!
